Calawah is a project which requires Cardinal Spelling Correction is made up of 3 different segments:

1. Intent Determination
2. Spelling Correction
3. Query Categorization

The project Calawah is good for you if you’re interested in finding the spelling mistakes in the user queries, intent mistakes, and if you would understand query categorization as well.

The Calawah project is a series of 3 related tasks. The results from the first task will feed into the work for the second task, the 3rd task stands alone.

1. Intent Determination

The first task in Calawah is to determine the Spelling Intent of the query and identify if the query is a misspelling.  No correction will be done during this part of the task..

2. Spelling Correction 

The second task of Calawah objective is to identify the proper spelling correction for the queries that have been identified as misspellings.  This also includes identifying if a query is a phonetic misspelling or not.

3. Query Categorization 

The third task in Calawah is not depended on the results of the first two tasks.  The third task will require you to classify the queries from the first task into various categories.
